I always loved to draw

Hi! I am Heleen from the Netherlands. I design vibrant and playful illustrations and surface patterns for kids fashion, puzzles, home decor, stationery and more. I am drawn to bold and cheerful colors. My designs stand out because of their bold shapes and are fun, whimsical and cute. 

My designs are inspired by the world around me: the forest, my kids, my garden, picture books and art. I love to simplify the world around us in easy shapes and patterns that everyone can understand. I hope to bring a bit of joy to your day with every design I make. 

I always liked to draw and I am drawn to bold and vibrant colors. I went to a drawing club when I was a child. You could always find me somewhere with my coloring pencils or chalks. After a Bachelor in Science (for industrial design engineering) I finished Art School for graphic design (KABK). After some graphic design jobs I picked up my love for drawing as a profession and started making my first pattern designs in 2015. For me this is the perfect combination of art and mathematics.

When I am not drawing on paper or the computer, I love gardening, reading, playing the piano and walking in the forest near our house.
